We have a "No No List" of about 10 serious, yet common misbehaviors and infractions that the district, teachers, parents and students have all agreed upon which will be dealth with promptly, boldy and seriously. You get two chances to make a mistake on the No No List. ON the third time the student is expelled from our district for one year. Any infraction on the No No List after returning from a one year expulsion is a permanent expluslion. The student can no longer receive an education at a school in our district. We have a State Law which allows for this. The list features common, disruptive behaviors which are not criminally sanctioned but cause serious disruption to the learning environment at our school They are as follows: 1. uttering in any form and in any context, even mumbling to yourself, the "N" word. 2. uttering in any form and in any context, even mumbling to yourself any diregatory word used to identify gay/lasbian/transgender students. 3. Defiance/Talk Back/Cursing a teacher or administrator. 4. Bullying of any and all kinds. Bullying is the singling out of an individual for the purpose of embarrassing, belittling or disparanging another student. 5. Fighting/Hitting/Spit Balls/throwing of objects, etc. 6. innappropriate touching on any part of another student's person, shoving, tickling or manhandling. 6. acting in a negative aggressive or theatening manner towards any student, teacher or staff member. 7. using social media to taunt, stalk, embarrass or harrass another student in this school. 8. Harrassment of teachers and staff in the form of prank phone calls or in class pranks. 9. TBA 10. TBA. We've been doing this for two years and have expelled 2 high school students and one middle school student for one year. One of the high school parents sued the school in the name of "students by law have a right to an education" however in our State that right is contingent on many things regarding student conduct and performance. It is our desire to impact every student not just in academics but also in how to move about in the world in the respect of others but most importantly in the respect of themselves.
